Controller Probes

General Maintenance Tips:
Never let the electrode tip dry out.

To clean probes: first, degrease them. Use a toothbrush, wetted and dipped in some powdered sodium bicarbonate. Rinse in tap water. Then rinse in a dilute solution of muriatic acid (4 parts water, 1 part acid) to dissolve any mineral stains. After cleaning, it will take a few hours for the probe to reach equilibrium and the controller will need to be restandardized.
